Building Your Capsule Wardrobe

A capsule wardrobe is a wardrobe full of clothes that mix and match with everything, you can wear countless times, and things you’ll never get tired of & never will go out of style.

Here I have a list of some essential things to be in your capsule wardrobe, but everyone has their style and ideas of what the "basics" are. I’m not saying this will be exactly what your capsule wardrobe will look like, but here are some things to base it off of.

1. Tees

A classic tee will never go out of style, especially a white tee. This doesn’t need to be expensive at all,. in fact a lot of stores have very cheap classic tees.

It’s best to get this basic style staple in neutrals: white, brown, black, khaki, beige etc, but a pop of color can also be great.

Find the fit you like, then buy it in all the colors. If you like a soft v, A-line, crew neck, or Scoop neckline, find the perfect shirt then buy it in all of the colors.

2. Leather Jackets

Leather jackets are a yes for any teen's wardrobe. They’ve been here since the early 1900s and are still always trendy. Plus, you can wear a leather jacket with anything.

These are a bit more expensive the nicer you want it to be, so I would invest in buying one, in black, that’s a nice cut, fit, and is comfortable.

3. White Sneakers

White sneakers are a must, you can’t not have a pair of white Vans, or Converse. They pair with so many things, and add a sense of simplicity or that needed neutral in a bright outfit.

4. Denim Everything

Can you imagine a year in your life that denim wasn’t trending and popular? If you have been alive since before 1873, the answer is no. So, go pick out your favorite fit of denim.

You can never ever go wrong with a straightcut jean, boyfriend jean, high rise denim shorts, or a denim skirt.

So find the perfect denim piece and buy it in all the colors. I recommend sticking to white, dark blue, light blue and black.

5. LBD

If you don’t know, LBD stands for Little Black Dress, and every teen needs one in their life. They can pair with everything! You can dress them up or down and you can find the perfect one for your needs on every popular online and in person store. Plus, they can be very affordable.

6. Trusty Leggings

Not everyone can dress in dresses and skirts all day long, and you’ll always need a good pair of trusty leggings.

1. Mini Backpack

I’m not talking those mini, mini backpacks that you can’t fit your phone in, I’m talking about something big enough to fit your phone, makeup, scrunchies, wallet.
