Hey girl! Spring is here, and in today's blog post i will be showing you 10 tips for how to Spring clean your closet. If you're looking to organize and throw out some clothes, this blog post is for you.
We all love the idea of a neat closet like the one shown above, so keep reading for 4 ways to organize your closet.
Invest In Organization
If you want to have an Instagram pic worthy closet, and one that's functional, stop buying clothes for a bit and save up to buy high quality closet organization.
Fold Your Clothes
Folding your clothes is most helpful for every day clothes like your fav mom jeans, crop tops, or denim shorts.
Hang Anything Firm, Fancy, Or Delicate
Anything that's expensive or really nice, should be hung on a hanger. Dresses, rompers, even skirts and slacks, should all be hung to prevent wrinkles. If you have room to hang your tees, great, put first hang anything delicate, firm, or fancy.
Color Code Your Closet
This is the best way to organize your closet. It's easy to match outfits quickly in the mornings, and it looks great also. Besides, you can make your own rainbow! If you have mostly pastel clothes, or gray & black, make your own pastel or goth rainbow.
Tips:
- Store your most used clothes at eye level
- Roll underwear, socks, pajamas and even active wear in small bins
- Put un-seasonal items in an attic, under your bed, or in high storage (why have a cable knit sweater out in July?)
How To Clean and Get Rid of Clothes You Don't Need
Lay It All Out
It sounds hard and time-consuming, and it is, but so worth it. Laying out all of the clothes in your closet on the floor lets you see them all in one glance, and decide what to keep. Remember to prioritize.
Ask Yourself These Questions
The most efficient way to get rid of clothes you don't need and be proud of how your closet looks is to pick up a piece of clothing and ask yourself this:
~ Do I like it?
~ Have I worn it in the last year?
~Does It Fit?
~ Be honest! Am i going to wear this?
Have Three Boxes
When you ask yourself the questions above either throw the piece of clothing into "Keep" "Donate" "Toss" Anything that is ripped, stained, or stretched out goes in "Toss", anything that doesn't fit your body or your style goes in "Donate"
and anything that you love & wear all the time goes back in the closet.
Ask A Friend
If you're feeling like you're not being honest with yourself on a piece of clothing, call a teen friend (that you trust) and ask them their honest opinion.
